How it works

An 8 Week Behaviour Support Program starts with an Initial Behaviour Consultation, which lasts for about 2 hours, but I don’t clock watch, and I like to talk a lot! So it will most likely run over time.

If you’re happy for me to, I will come to your home to meet both you and your dog (and any other family members too!)

We will put easy-to-practice techniques into place from day one to ensure bad habits aren’t being practised and new associations can begin to be built.

Each week we will have a session together in person, this may be in your home, on a local walk or at a different location.

I like weekly sessions together to ensure we’re on the right track and progress is being made, we will take everything at your and your dogs pace.

Support in your pocket

Throughout the 8 weeks we have a Pocket Pal Coaching group set up, this is between myself, you and your family.

Here I will share advice, videos and voice clips with you, I will ask you to send me videos and regular updates throughout each week too. I will watch each video and give you feedback and advice.

There is no need to wait until our in-person sessions, your Pocket Pal Coaching group is so you can use me as your google!! I want to be the one who you fire all of your questions at, use me and lean on me for support as much as you feel you need to.

5* client reviews

Can not recommend enough. Ellie has been brilliant and so supportive from the first time I contacted her. She has so much experience and has completely understood the dynamics of our dogs. The difference in behaviour has been amazing after only a few weeks.

Steffi with Mollie & Poppie (Yorkshire Terrier & Jack Russell)

Ellie was highly recommended to us through a friend. We live quite a distance from Ellie but she was more than happy to come and see us on two separate occasions. I was really on board with Ellie's positive attitude to dog training and behaviour, it is adamant she is passionate about what she does and I was amazed at our transformed pup sat before me. I honestly can't praise Ellie highly enough, I only wish she lived nearer so we could make use of her talent and skills more often, but I know I shall be calling on her again in the future!

FAQ.

Will my dog grow out of it?

As lovely and simple as that would be…..it’s very unlikely. Behaviour is driven by emotions, and just like us, dogs don’t tend to just grow out of how they are feeling.

You may have previously noticed the odd grumble, the odd bark and lunge, the odd overreaction to a perfectly normal situation – but now, you can pretty much predict that your dog will grumble, or bark and lunge, or overreact in that situation.

This is because the emotions that are driving the behaviour are getting more intense, and the message your dog is trying to communicate isn’t working, therefore the behaviour will continue to get worse.

What methods will we be using with my dog?
All of the methods I use are kind, fair, and effective, they are all force-free, up-to-date, and science-based. Both you and your dog are encouraged to express how you feel, nothing is hidden, judged or suppressed.
Can you guarantee results?
Behaviour is a form of expressing emotions and feelings, the way your dog behaves is a reflection of their association with that particular situation.

This could be something super exciting, horribly terrifying or incredibly frustrating.

To guarantee that I could change this behaviour expression you are seeing would mean completely disregarding the fact that your dog is a living animal with their own feelings.

The only guarantee that I can or will ever give you is that I will do my very best to support you, give you access to all of my knowledge and experience and always put your dog’s needs first in order to improve their quality of life. That’s it.

Now, that’s not to say I can’t help you to reach your goals, but having an understanding of where behaviour comes from, why your dog is expressing themselves in that manner – whether it is desirable or not – and how to work towards the goals you have is what I do best!
